Change of Plans
Today I am thankful for changing my plans. I skipped my run tonight and had dinner with my lovely friend Jess. The skipping the run thing was totally last minute and then Jess sent me a text asking to grab dinner. We were destined to eat together tonight!
Dreamgirls
Last night I went to see Dreamgirls. It was a last minute decision, as in about 24 hours. $20 well spent. I am thankful to live in a town that brings some great shows.

Ginger Shrimp Stirfry
I am so thankful I took the time after the gym tonight to make dinner even though I got home at 8 PM. It was awesome and now I have lunch for tomorrow!
Football!
Thankful for free tickets to the Titans-Eagles Game. Thankful for good company. Thankful for a gorgeous fall day. Thankful for Titans WIN!
Weddings
I spent my Saturday attending the wedding of a college roommate. The reception perfectly tied together their mutual love of music. From the guitar they had all the guests sign, to the playlist they created and each table was a song from the list, to the live band. It was a grand party!
Questlove
KEXP had a wonderful DJ set on Thursday AND Friday afternoon with Questlove. It was a complete surprise and it made the afternoons, especially Friday just wonderful.

The Famer's Market
I don't go to the Farmer's Market enough. I really need to go more.
I got this bounty for $3.50! today.
Fish Tacos
I have been craving Fish Tacos for about a week now. I finally had some last night. I may have had them twice today as well...
The tacos from Baja Burrito last night were my favorite of my impromptu fish taco taste test.

My New Running Shirt!
Last night at East Nasty we got our new fall/winter running shirts. They just so happen to be Lululemon as well! We got an amazing deal on the shirts, so I picked up both the men's and women's shirts. I was super excited to try out my shirt this morning with a run. But that didn't happen. I chose sleep over running this morning and when I stepped outside and felt the crisp fall air I was a little disappointed with myself. BUT I had packed my running clothes so I could get a run in. Initially my thoughts were to run after work, but at some point during the morning I decided to run during my lunch. I pulled a little Bitchcakes and I may have not showered after my run...
Today I am thankful for...
My new running shirt
My four mile lunch run
A job that allows me the flexibility to go running during lunch
The beautiful fall colors

Legs
Today I am thankful for my strong legs. These legs help me run. I may not like them every day and my calves may need the "extended calf" size, but today I think they looked pretty awesome in my heels and my magic mirror at work. Theses legs have run a half marathon, a 15k, a 10k, numerous 5ks, and ever The Warrior Dash! These legs helped me get in shape, stay in shape, and are what allow me to have the heart rate of an athlete. (My doctors words, not mine.) I guess 50 bpm, is good or something!
And with that I am off for my evening run!

Running
It's not even 8 AM and I have so much to be thankful for!
Tuesday mornings are my speed session mornings. I get up early and run fast for short (usually 1 mile or less) intervals and repeat. This morning's workout was mile repeats. When I run on Tuesday mornings I don't listen to music. It allows me to think a lot.
Today I am thankful for a couple of things.
My Garmin. Without it, I wouldn't have such detailed information about my runs.
Also, see the time on there? I am thankful for early morning workouts. 7:30 AM and I already completed a 7 mile workout.
Another thing I am thankful for today is my friend Hunter. Hunter is fast. And he also knows a lot about running. He put together the informal speed sessions I go to each week. He sends out an informative e-mail every Monday and is always encouraging. He knows some stuff about running and I am thankful he is so willing to share. Every runner (and non runner alike) should have a friend like Hunter.

Dinner
I have been thinking about dinner all day today. Today I am thankful I took the time to go grocery shopping yesterday to prepare for the week.
French baguette with olive oil, peppered salami, tomato, basil, mozzarella, and salt and pepper. YUM!
Bongo to Bongo
Sundays are my long run day. I have been steadily increasing my mileage in preparation for my half marathon in December. My run on Sunday stated at Bongo Java East. I ran to the original Bongo Java and then back again. The thing that got pushed when I really just wanted to call it a day? The thought of a pumpkin chocolate chip muffin and a nice cold glass of milk. I am thankful for yummy pumpkin chocolate chip muffins.
October 9
I ran in a 5k on Saturday. I ran in this same 5k a year. I was still new to running.
I am thankful for improvement. I shaved 2 minutes and 35 seconds off my time from last year!
No actually pictures for the day...just screen shots.

Fall!
Today I am thankful for the cool weather. After such a hot summer, bring on the cool crisp evenings. Tonight was the perfect night to sit around a fire laughing and talking with friends all while enjoying the much cooler evening.

Nashville
Today I am thankful that I call Nashville home. It is such a great city with so much great music and some really cool venues. There is a free concert series in the fall on Thursday nights. Tonight I saw Band of Horses with my friends. So much fun!

East Nasty Day
Wednesdays are the day I run with my beloved East Nasties. Today the weather was perfect and the company was great.
Today I am thankful for this little black mark on my hand. To me it symbolize the completion of a run and time well spent with friends. Tonight's run was an easy 4.2ish miles. Oh, and I was also complemented on my steady pace tonight as well!
Musical Thankfulness
I apologize in advance, but there will probably be a lot of musical thankfulness, especially from me and especially this month. It's a busy month for concerts for me.
Last night I was lucky enough to attend Keith Urban's all for the Hall (a fundraiser for the Country Music Hall of Fame). I saw some pretty great performances, but my favorite was John Mayer. And I am thankful I was able to go because according to him that was his last show for a while.

Day 4
About 7 years ago I met Barbara "Mother" Hubbard. I reconnected with her a few years later at another work conference and she has been nothing but a supportive and inspirational mentor over the past few years. Mother Hubbard knows everyone. And I am so incredibly thankful that I know her. Today I am thankful for Barbara and all the time, support, and energy she has given to young professionals interested in the entertainment industry. She truly is a living legend.
Day 3 (Better late than never)
So I have been busy with a work conference that's in town which has meant staying out late and talking a lot, which can take a lot out of a person. But at the same time it is totally energizing as well.
Sunday was the first day of the conference. I went to the opening kick off. Left for a bit and went to a concert. Ended up back at a conference showcase.
On Sunday I was thankful for the Ryman Auditorium and that I consider it a hometown venue. And that I get to see great shows like the National.
